We are thrilled to announce that four Peninsula School District schools have been honored through the 2023-2024 Washington State School Recognition Program! This prestigious recognition, awarded by the State Board of Education (SBE), the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC), celebrates schools demonstrating exceptional progress in student success.

Our Honored Schools:

• Discovery Elementary School: Recognized for Growth for students in one or more racial or ethnic groups & Achievement in ELA & Math

• Harbor Heights Elementary School: Recognized for Growth for low-income students & Achievement in ELA & Math

• Purdy Elementary School: Recognized for Achievement in ELA & Math

• Swift Water Elementary: Recognized for Achievement in ELA & Math

For the 2023-2024 school year, only 16% of schools statewide received recognition, making this achievement even more significant. Schools can be recognized in three categories:

• Closing Gaps: Schools making significant progress in areas previously identified for improvement

• Growth: Schools with student groups showing some of the state's largest annual gains across multiple measures

• Achievement: Schools with the state's highest performance in key areas while maintaining high performance across all student groups

These recognitions reflect the dedication of our incredible educators, the hard work of our students, and the supportive partnership with our families and community.
