This prestigious recognition, awarded by the State Board of Education (SBE), the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC), celebrates schools demonstrating exceptional progress in student success.

Discovery Elementary School: Recognized for Growth for students in one or more racial or ethnic groups & Achievement in ELA & Math
Harbor Heights Elementary School: Recognized for Growth for low-income students & Achievement in ELA & Math
Purdy Elementary School: Recognized for Achievement in ELA & Math
Swift Water Elementary: Recognized for Achievement in ELA & Math
For the 2023-2024 school year, only 16% of schools statewide received recognition, making this achievement even more significant. Schools can be recognized in three categories:
Closing Gaps: Schools making significant progress in areas previously identified for improvement
Growth: Schools with student groups showing some of the state's largest annual gains across multiple measures
Achievement: Schools with the state's highest performance in key areas while maintaining high performance across all student groups
